NEW DELHI: Reinforcing India's
assertion that the Mumbai attack had Pakistani links, leading UK paper `Observer' on Sunday said the lone surviving terrorist -- Ajmal Amir Kasab -- belongs to a village in Okara district of Pakistan's Punjab, an "active" recruiting ground for Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).

"The Observer has obtained electoral lists for Faridkot village showing 478 registered voters, including a Mohammed Amir, married to Noor Elahi. Amir's and Noor's national identity card numbers have also been obtained. At the address given in the list, a man identifying himself as Sultan said he was the father-in-law of Mohammed Amir," said the report, published on Sunday.

Ajmal had told his interrogators that he hailed from Faridkot village in Okara district of Pakistan's Punjab province. His father was named as Mohammed Amir, married to a woman named Noor.

The daily also quoted a villager as saying, "The village is an active recruiting ground for the banned militant group LeT. We know that boy (caught in Mumbai
) is from Faridkot. We knew from the first night (of the attack). They brainwash our youth about jihad, there are people who do it in this village. It is so wrong."

The Observer, while attributing it to "villager and other locals", mentioned that Ajmal had not lived in Faridkot for about four years but would return to see his family once a year and frequently talked of freeing Kashmir from Indian rule.

My Inference: This could be a propaganda stuff by the elite clout. I have only these words for you; World is murky and dark and its getting murkier... Many are fishing. people are doomed to be fools. God lone knows the truth.
